Actual, Implied, and psychic lines

Actual Lines

In this picture the dress shows lines that are present in the design, which makes them actual lines

Actual Line: Lines that are physically present in a design.

Implied Lines

Implied Line: A line that isn't physically there but is suggested by things in a design or in artwork.
A dotted line is a perfect example of an implied line because even though it may not look like a line each dot implies that they connect together and make a line

Psychic Lines
Psychic Line: Not an actual line, and it doesnt have actual points, but the human mind sees an imaginary line and follows the Psychic line.
The little girl pointing is perfect for the Psychic lines because even though there is no line our eyes will follow her arm to see what she is pointing at.
